U.S. President Calls Emergency Meeting as American and Jordanian Forces Aid Israel in Intercepting Attack

This happens in third day after Eid-al-Fitr 2024, Iran’s recent military action marked a significant escalation in tensions, as it launched numerous drones and ballistic missiles towards Israel. This attack followed a period of heightened apprehension in the region, with warnings from various quarters about the looming threat of a broader conflict. The assault triggered air raid sirens over Jerusalem in the early hours of Sunday, with the projectiles reportedly originating from Iran and intercepted with the aid of U.S. and Jordanian military support

This news is really weird, since most of the time Iran always allies with US and Israel as far as I know. It is very often that the news with the real situation was not consistent. Many evidences that Iran is exactly US allies which create conspiracy theories surround it (by applying sanction to Iran for world trading). This is my only opinions.

In fact now, despite claiming that the military action was a response to perceived aggression against its diplomatic premises in Damascus, Iran’s warning extended to potential retaliation against further Israeli aggression, cautioning against assistance from the U.S. and Jordan. However, U.S. and Jordanian forces managed to intercept some Iranian drones, as confirmed by officials. The U.S. embassy in Jerusalem issued a security alert instructing government employees to take shelter until further notice.

The offensive, launched by Iran late on Saturday (13th March 2024), marked the first direct attack by the Islamic Republic on Israel, signaling a dangerous escalation after years of clandestine conflict and heightened tensions. Reports indicated that Iran deployed over a hundred drones and cruise missiles, with subsequent claims of a ballistic missile barrage. U.S. President Joe Biden hastily returned to Washington upon indications of an imminent Iranian attack.

This attack based on speculation for nearly two weeks regarding Iran’s potential response to an Israeli strike on an Iranian diplomatic building in Damascus earlier in April, which resulted in casualties including a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards figure. Biden’s return followed his prior remarks anticipating an Iranian attack and a last-minute warning to Tehran. Moreover, Iran’s seizure of an Israeli-affiliated ship in the strait of Hormuz added to the escalating tensions.

Upon returning to the White House, Biden immediately convened a high-level meeting in the Situation Room, joined by top officials from the defense, intelligence, and security sectors. The urgent discussions centered on the evolving situation in the Middle East, with a focus on regional threats and support for Israel’s defense. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged the country’s readiness for a direct attack by Iran and expressed appreciation for the backing from the U.S. and other allies. Additionally, the U.S. House of Representatives announced plans to consider legislation in support of Israel and aimed at holding Iran accountable, reflecting the gravity of the situation.
